Getting on a (fabric) roll

One of the best things about my new house is that it has a second bedroom. Great for when we have people to stay over...

Who am I trying to fool?! It is the best because I now have a SEWING ROOM!! Yippeeee!

So, I thought I would share some photos of my organisational bender I have had over the past few days.
Firstly, I started with some new drawers from IKEA. I posted about them yonks ago here... well, I finally got them. In this state!

The room pre-sorting

A little selection of the lovely prints I bought in Japan, folded and ready for drawers

In the end, I decided to put my plain colours in the new drawers, so they are easy to access.

Now I need to put up some pictures, and find a nice chair for my sewing desk... and we'll be in action!

So, this is why I haven't been around.

Hi all! I know it's been forever, but I thought you might like to see the bridesmaid's and flowergirl dresses that I have been working on for yonks. Well, here they are in action on the day. It was a perfect wedding: beautiful weather, calm bride, lovely service, fab food and dancing the night away.

Fabric Bonanza!

At the Craft and Quilt show a couple of weeks back, I invested in some gorgeous cotton prints to use in my next lot of creations. These fabrics give me so many ideas!

A Day on Earth

Our efforts for Earth hour involved Mahjong by candlelight. When I was in China in 2006 I purchased a set, purely based on the lovely designs and patterns on the tiles. This was the first time I had attempted a game - and I have to admit that a Mahjong Master I am not. But building the fortress was fun.

And today: I get in a spin about anything fabric related, so you won't be surprised to hear my excitement about receiving fabric in the post. Some delicious fabric arrived for me today from Belsize Square. They have such gorgeous prints and a great range of fabrics. I am super pleased - I can see it making an outrageously cute dress or skirt for NeverEver.

Next to them, some yellow mini roses given to me by my workmate today, for no reason at all other than to bring a smile. Sweet, huh?

Moo Goodness

I just received my new MOO cards! I love them so much! I can't stop looking at them and I know I will find it very difficult to give them away. They came in a fancy-schmancy box, pictured here on a gorgeous tree print fabric that I purchased from Patchwork On Central Park.
Look, look! :D

The CUTEST vintage fabric ever

I just found this gorgeous piece of vintage fabric. I call it the liquorice allsort. I'm working out a pattern to make the cutest little dress that ever was... I may be tempted to keep it for me though!

New style in store!

Here is a new design in my Etsy store: the tuxedo shift dress. I love the contrasting fabrics and colours. Super cute for summer!
